Milking Does

Zee is a shy but beautiful chocolate buckskin and a high producing doe. Zee has the addition of the Sugar Moon genetics from her sire, where the breed production record is held. Zee has reached the 93rd percentile in production for the breed. I love her front leg placement and tight shoulders. She is super wide and kids easily every year. Zee had triplets in 2022, twins in 2023 and 2024, triplets in 2025. Daughters we have retained included Rockville Ridge SpiceZee (hit 5.5# on her 3F milk test), GraceZee, and GlitZee Girl. In 2025, Zee milked a half gallon a day 6 months straight. She has a very consistent lactation curve, which I love. Unfortunately, Zee tore her MCL at the end of 2024 and it cannot be repaired. She is doing great, but I don’t think she’ll be bred again to avoid too much strain on that leg – so her daughters that are still here will carry on her line (GraceZee & GlitZee Girl). With her torn MCL and 7 mos into lactation, she still won Reserve Champion at the Dairy Goat Society of VA show in Lexington, VA and scored GGEE87 at a Sept ’25 LA.

Zebulen’s dam Sugar Moon Z Zip Me Up and holds the record highest total milk production for the breed! The Amethyst Acres / Sugar Moon side of this pedigree puts milk in the pail and contributes beautiful udders.

Bella loves attention and isn’t shy with visitors. She is chocolate doe with a gorgeous udder – scoring E for mammary – no surprise as she is from the same line as the Better Wayz Carabear line mixed with the Sugar Moon production genetics. She’s an easy keeper who kids so easily – triplets in 2022 and 2023 and quads in 2024, triplets again in 2025. We have retained multiple daughters: Rockville Ridge BellaRose (2022), Isabella (2023), Bella’s Beauty (2024), Bella Luna (2025) and her kids never disappoint! Bella is not my highest production doe, but she consistently produces offspring that are better than her no matter which buck I use.

Izzy is our Togg look-alike – chocolate swiss with moonspots. She is very long haired which can hide her beautiful build. Izzy was our only FF in 2024 and she did not disappoint. She’s out of Better Wayz Bella, who is not my highest production dam line, but Izzy has been a standout performer for milk production, surpassing 1000# as a 2F! She has such beautiful dairy skin and milks down to nothing. Izzy is maturing beautifully and is exactly what I love seeing in my barn everyday. We retained a daughter Elizabeth in 2025 and plan to retain in 2026 too.

GraceZee is maturing into one of the best built does Zee has produced. She is super strong, wide, and level thurl to thurl. Every Zee daughter has had solid production, but GraceZee hit the ground as a FF in 2025 milking over 4# a day. Her udder capacity and foreudder is exactly what I want. Teat placement could be improved, but she has earned her spot for a 2nd freshening. She was 2nd in her age group and 3rd overall under judge April Hitch at the DGSVA show in Aug 2025, he first time out in a ring.

Sheba is our newest addition from Better Wayz. Our first polled doe, she has dams on both sides with LA scores in the 90’s and is just so well put together! Her sire, Swiss Mister, is out of SG Better Wayz SwissMiss Carabear 3*M VEEE92, Elite & Top Ten! Swiss Mister’s sire is Better Wayz Is A Hunk *B, who is out of SG Better Wayz Isabelle 3*M EEEE92, also Elite & Top Ten! Sheba already has an incredibly wide rump for her age and her sire’s beautiful front end. She freshened in Jan 2025 and has a beautiful FF udder with solid production. She made us proud at the DGSVA show in Aug 2025, 8 mos into her FF, where she placed first in the yearling milkers under both judges! She was commended on her General Appearance, foreudder, and rear udder height. She is one to watch! We retained her daughter Victoria.

Beauty was one of two Epic daughters we kept to freshen in 2025. She is from Bella’s line, which is a little slower maturing, but she has all the right parts. Beauty is a long bodied, refined doe with a long elegant neck, great pasterns, level rump thurl to thurl, and a very promising FF udder. I am loving both her teat placement and size, and her production is superb – she is so easy to hand milk! I have retained her daughter “Belle Fleur” and am excited to see both freshen in ’26.

Sweetie was a very promising FF here in spring 2025, but she was sold in milk after kidding with 3 younger does. She was offered back to us when her new herd dynamic wasn’t the best for her as she was the only mature doe in the herd. I brought her back dry but really like how she’s matured. Unfortunately, I don’t have great pictures from her as an adult since she left right after kidding and came back dry, but she has the highest rear udder I have ever seen and I can tell she developed the long teats that Vader passes. I can’t wait to see her 2F udder.

Bella has a gorgeous buttery soft udder and Luna’s teat placement already looks so promising! Super excited to see her freshen in 2026. She will be bred to Maestro this season.
